Bill Gordon established himself as a prolific golf course architect working primarily throughout the Mid-Atlantic region during the mid-to-late 20th century. His portfolio demonstrates a particular concentration in Pennsylvania, where he designed or renovated courses at many of the state's established private clubs, along with notable work extending into neighboring states and select projects in Quebec, Canada.
Among Gordon's most recognized designs are the three courses at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania—the Old, Weyhill, and Grace courses—which collectively showcase his range and skill. He also created The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, and worked on courses at St. Claire Country Club, Sunnybrook Golf Club, and numerous other private facilities.
