Army Corp of Engineers

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is the military engineering branch of the U.S. Army and one of the world's largest public engineering, design, and construction management agencies. Established in its current form in 1802, the Corps employs approximately 37,000 personnel—97% civilian—across three primary mission areas: military construction, civil works, and the Engineer Regiment.

While the Corps is best known for its civil engineering projects including dams, locks, flood control systems, and waterway navigation, it has also designed golf courses on military installations and public lands.
