Andy North is an American professional golfer who won three PGA Tour events during his playing career, most notably capturing the U.S. Open twice—first in 1978 at Cherry Hills and again in 1985 at Oakland Hills. Born March 9, 1950, North has served as a golf analyst for ESPN since 1992, bringing his competitive experience to television audiences.
Beyond broadcasting, North has contributed to golf course architecture with a portfolio concentrated in the upper Midwest and mountain West. His designs include Northern Pines Golf Club in Kalispell, Montana, and the 27-hole Trappers Turn Country Club in Wisconsin Dells, where the Arbor, Canyon, and Lake nines offer varied routing combinations. The General at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Galena, Illinois, and Brown Deer Park Golf Club in Milwaukee—a historic municipal course—represent additional notable projects.
