Bruce Hepner is a golf course architect whose work includes both original designs and restoration projects. He gained recognition for supervising the late-1990s restoration of Blue Mound Golf & Country Club in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, working under Tom Doak's Renaissance Design to revive Seth Raynor's classic 1930s layout. That restoration helped preserve one of the Midwest's historic championship venues.
Hepner's original designs span the eastern United States and upper Midwest. His portfolio includes Cape Arundel Golf Club in Kennebunkport, Maine, a highly regarded seaside course that has become a favorite among serious golfers. He also designed North Shore Golf Club in Menasha, Wisconsin, and Boothbay Harbor Country Club in coastal Maine. Additional work includes Beechtree Golf Club in Aberdeen, Maryland, demonstrating his range across different landscapes and regional playing conditions.
His approach balances strategic design principles with sensitivity to terrain, particularly evident in his New England coastal projects where natural features guide routing and shot values.
